Installation instructions for Monitor one version FP1.106.391

Posted On: February 15, 2008 - 12:00 by Admin

New Monitor one users

If you are a new Monitor one user, we recommend installing version FP1.106.391 for evaluation purposes. Note that without a license key Monitor one runs is evaluation mode, with no time restrictions whatsoever. The evaluation mode allows you add 8 device objects.

There is no functional difference between running in evaluation mode and normal mode - it's the same software! Without a purchased license key, only the number of devices that can be added to the network map and can be monitored is limited!

After installation checkout the Support page for known problems, workarounds or tips and tricks. Follow the steps below to install the new software:

InfoNote that the instructions below assume that the Firebird database engine and the Apache web server are not already installed and running on your workstation/server and that you are currently using Monitor one version FP1.78.317. If you are using an older Monitor one version, upgrade to FP1.78.317 first.

  1. Shutdown Monitor one
  2. Uninstall your current Monitor one installation! (recommended)
  3. Make a backup of your project directory (the directory where the *.db, *.mb and *.px files reside)

  7. Start the new version!
  8. Open your old project. You will be prompted for a username and password for the Firebird database. The "out of the box" default username/password is "sysdba/masterkey". After this, the database conversion starts. Don't interrupt, this process may take from a few minutes to a few hours to complete (depending on the size of the History logs)!! This is phase-1 of the database conversion!
  9. If the conversion has finished, your old project will be opened in the new version. This is where conversion phase-2 starts. Phase-2 takes approximately 30 seconds. At the end of phase-2, a message will popup indicating that Monitor one needs to be restarted.
  10. Restart Monitor one and open the project again.
  11. Read the important notes regarding the Error-control changes and the consequences for your existing projects here

We hope you enjoy the new software!
