SNMP Components License types

Free version

Without a license key, the SNMP Components run in "Free version" mode. There is no functional difference between running in "Free version" mode or running in normal mode - it's the same software! Without a purchased license key, the components only support the SNMP mib-2 OID's (OID's starting with "1.3.6.1.2.1").

There are absolutely no restrictions in the use of the components without a license key. You can install them on as many systems as you like. You can use them for personal use, copy them and give them to others and even use them in commercial products!

Personal license

A valid Personal license key removes all limitations from the components regarding supported OID's. You can access all OID's from all snmp agents. The following rights apply to the Personal license key:

  • Upon purchase of a License Key, FineConnection hereby grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Software personally on one or more computers, or installed on a single computer used by multiple people, but not both.
  • The component(s) are registered to the name that you entered into the order form when you bought a license. You are not allowed to use a personal license in commercial products!
  • You are not allowed to resell a Personal license key.

The image on the right shows a component's About box when running with a "Personal license".

Integrator license

You may distribute your own Applications that use the FineConnection SNMP Components as a runtime component if and only if:

  • Your Applications do not provide substantially the same functionality as the FineConnection SNMP Components OR have as one of their purposes to build other software that would compete (on price and/or functionality) with the FineConnection SNMP Components
  • You distribute one (1) unique "SNMP Component key" per user of your Application (The "Integrator program" provides considerable discounts!)

FineConnection reserves the right to decline an Application or Integration request without giving any reasons! Please use this form to contact us and to provide some details about your Integration plans.

An "Integrator" key unlocks the <vendorspecific> tags so that Integrators can use them for displaying their Application and company specific data (Company name and Logo, Application name and version). See the image on the right.
